Hi there, I'm Snooks! That rhymes with Foots, which was what I was called in my former home, before I got dropped at the shelter, along with a whole lot of other dogs. I heard the shelter workers say that my previous owner was going into the hospital and couldn't take care of us any longer. They also said that my old housemates and I were all somewhere between 5 and 7 years old, so I don't really know my exact age, but I can tell you though, that I'm old enough to understand that life doesn't always turn out just the way you think it will....so you just gotta keep smiling and hope for the best! Actually, I'm hoping that maybe you will be my new family and that we can stay together forever....that would be the very best!
My foster mom says that I'm a wonderful dog with a happy, easy-going personality and she thinks I'm beautiful, too! She must be right about my looks, because I've noticed that everybody seems to want to run their fingers through my soft, plush fur and they always say how GREAT I am! Well, "great big" is what a lot of people say. That's because I recently tipped the scales at 70 pounds, and even though I'm healthy and heartworm negative, the vet says I really need to slim down and get in shape. I think I can do it too, because I'm a perky girl and I love to go for long walks on leash!
Actually I'm just a people pleasing, happy go lucky, tail wagging sort of dog who loves to be by your side, whatever you're doing. So, if you will love me and help me to exercise and cut down on the treats, I bet I can drop those extra pounds, quick as a wink.....and I'll love you forever, too!
Did I mention that I already know 'sit', I get along great with other dogs, and best of all, I'm completely housetrained? Really, what more could you ask for. I promise I will make a wonderful addition to your life, if you'll just give me a chance.
