Lady's Story...
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Sex: Female
Age: 2 years
Size: Medium/compact
Coat-color: Black with White Markings
Group: Terrier – Companion
Energy level: Moderate

This absolutely adoring and often comical canine girl loves to have a bout of fun followed by a cuddling session with one of “her people.” Highly affectionate, steadfast, and loyal, Lady manages to combine in perfect proportions a laid-back, rather relaxed and casual approach to life with an infectiously happy, always cheerful, entirely upbeat disposition. Sensitive, sincere, and completely people-oriented, she enjoys learning, but even more, she enjoys a warm hug of approval after she’s done well. Although pretty easy-going and undemanding, this extremely social, friendly, and well-behaved canine cutie still needs sound leadership and structure in her life in order to succeed in her favorite role – that of entirely devoted, very hands-on-loving and much-loved family companion. Lady is currently working on her leash skills and good manners training with Monroe SPCA. An extremely sweet-natured canine who lives to please, she’s truly a joy to be around - extremely attentive, obedient, and well-mannered on a leash; praise motivated and very attuned to her handler.

Lady entered the shelter with a skin infection which is now completely healed. She still needs surgical repair of a prolapsed uterus though. Her medical care and treatment is being sponsored by the Monroe SPCA Hope Fund. Lady’s adoption will be through Monroe SPCA; she will be spayed (at the same time as her surgical repair), up-to-date on vaccinations, and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Lady should have her surgery as soon as possible, however, she is currently in a holding pattern as we look for a foster or permanent home for her to recuperate in after surgery. For more information about fostering or adopting Lady please contact Monroe SPCA Adoption Coordinator at 734-365-9294 or email info@monroespca.org. You can also contact the MCAC shelter during business hours (listed below).

Lady is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low-active to moderately-active lifestyle. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable pets, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate dogs will be required prior to adoption.

Lady currently resides at the Monroe County Animal Shelter. The shelter is located at 911 South Raisinville Road, Monroe, MI 48161. You can meet her during regular shelter hours; Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 am until 3:00 pm, and Saturday, 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. For more information please visit our facebook page at Monroe County Animal Shelter-MI or call us at 734-240-3125.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady, a Monroe Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Staffordshire Bull Terrier for sale in Monroe, or seeking a Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Monroe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Monroe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Monroe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Staffordshire Bull Terrier breeders who help with Staffordshire Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Monroe paves the way for another one to be saved.
