Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Last update: September 2014
Alfie is a "senior" Dachshund who is simply a joy to be around. Don’t let his age fool you, as it’s very hard to believe he isn’t much younger with his spunky little personality. His paperwork puts him between 8 and 10 years old and he has a whole lot of life to live!
Alfie was taken from a hoarding or puppy mill situation in the south originally but wound up here in an inappropriate placement; the family reached out to us and we were so glad we could help because he is one awesome dog! He is living with two dogs in foster - one is a similar size to him and one is about 10 times his size! He loves everyone - dogs, kids, grownups, strangers, etc. Alfie is housetrained, and he doesn't love the crate but doesn't need one in the house because he does well without it. His reaction to cats seems mixed, he's definitely interested and it doesn't appear he'd harm a cat but most felines get annoyed with being chased.
This little man is loving, charming and playful and he loves to entertain you with his cuteness, especially when you ask him to roll over.
Alfie spends half his time with his belly up in the air, whether stretched out in the sun or waiting for a belly rub. He loves to meet new people and is just a lovebug!
To apply to adopt this dog or any of our other sweeties, please check out our application on our website, www.luckypuprescue.org.
Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.
Thank you for considering rescue! Alfie is in southern Maine and can't wait to find a loving retirement home!
