My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

.
**Guess what?! My donation fee has been discounted. I'm now available for a minimum donation of $25. That's a steal!**

I am a 1-year-old neutered male Pit Bull/Terrier mix. I weigh about 37 pounds. You may have noticed in my photos that I have a large bandage on my right rear leg. Let me get that story out of the way so we can move onto the good stuff. I was picked up as a stray by animal control and brought to a local high-kill city animal shelter. When I got there, I was a complete mess! I was covered in fleas and wouldn't put any weight on my leg. I also had several small abrasions on my right knee and paw. The staff at the shelter took x-rays to be sure that I had no broken bones. Luckily, I didn't. But, I did have a very large wound on my leg. They actually call it a de-gloving injury. Basically, something had got a hold of my leg and yanked all the skin and muscle off all the way down to the tendons. Terrible, right?! Extremely painful, too! My wounds were cleaned and bandaged up and I was put in the medical ward where I spent about 13 days waiting for my chance at a new life. Meanwhile, the shelter staff continuously redressed my wounds and checked to be sure everything was healing correctly. They even neutered me, which is very unusual. Most dogs aren't sterilized before an adopter can be found. They must have seen something really special in me! I'm not surprised. I'm kind of the most awesome dog ever! I guess my charming personality finally paid off because shortly after my neuter surgery, I was told that I would be leaving the shelter and heading over to CageFree. Once I arrived at CageFree, I was sent to see a private vet, who said that I would heal up perfectly given a little more time. Well, a little time has passed since all of this happened and my doctor was right - I have healed really well. I definitely feel so much better! I'm able to bounce around and play with all my friends without being in any pain. I'm completely back to normal, living life like nothing ever happened to me in the first place. I'm a super happy guy that loves everyone. I mean everyone! Dogs and people alike! I'm playful, loving, exuberant, active, and very adorable! I look like a cute scruffy Pit Bull. Pretty unique, I must say. I'm an outgoing guy so I would make a perfect jogging or hiking partner. Are you interested in a dog like me? If so, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree to schedule an appointment.
