My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Isabella #1791 is a great pup! This female Lab/Australian Cattle mix is a very young, happy-go-lucky 5-year-old, with a constant smile and playful spirit. She bonds quickly all humans. She gets loyal and protective quickly; on walks and at home she's very alert, especially at night, but as soon as you tell her the person is ok, she goes back to her smiley, tongue dangling self. She'll also happily crawl into your lap on the couch to cuddle if you let her, but if denied, she happily curls up at (preferably ON) your feet and stays there until you've again or throw her green monkey toy. She walks fabulously on a leash. She pulls only when she has to do her business, but she works fast and then comes back to walk nicely by your knee. She walks quietly by dogs barking furiously at fences with a casual glance, ignores ducks and greets other dogs and owners with a playful tail wag. Her foster mom is not a runner, but thinks Isabella would make a good jogging partner as she is so human focused on the leash and doesn't cross in front. She is very gentle and submissive toward the other dogs, but warms up quickly to play. She would do very well at a dog park or in a home with a gentle alpha dog. She doesn't seem to miss having a canine buddy, so she would also do well as an only dog with attentive human friends. There's an old snarky cat her foster house and while she wishes he'd play chase with her, she respects his space (and his claws) while he taunts her, so she is probably good with cats. She is very smart and she responds very well to positive reinforcement once she knows you're at least as smart as her. She loves belly rubs! She is exceptionally well house trained. She sits in front of you and whines to go out, or leans against the door and looks at you. She doesn't mess around with late night squats in the rain; she does her business and wants to go back to bed. Her feet are webbed; this girl can swim and loves water. She is full grown, weighing right under 50 pounds. We believe you can always teach an “old” dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship.
