Chamberlain has been so patient during her quarantine period. We actually pulled her to safety in July. We put pups in quarantine for longer to ensure they don't come down with disease. This little girl was in there a little bit longer than the necessary quarantine time. Now it's her time. She will be a little bit bigger than in this photo. We are working on getting updated pics. She is as sweet as can be. After being found on the side of the road, her life was spared when a kid on his bike saw her. They came back to pick her up in their mother's car and they took her to our shelter. She was shaking like a leaf and very, very scared. She has now become more confident in herself and the world. She is a sweet little pup and yearns to be loved. If you'd like to make Chamberlain part of your family, please contact Karen at mossiesmom@aol.com.
Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
