My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peppermint Patty is one of the most endearing dogs you could ever meet. She is approx 35 lbs and 3-4 yrs old. She had the misfortune to land up at a very nasty high kill shelter and with having heart worms and a bad back did not stand much of a chance of getting out. Even the bassett hound rescue did not want her. She has completed her heart worm treatment and went to see our orthopedic surgeon for her back. She had a chronic herniated disc and had very successful surgery to correct it. If we had not done the surgery she may have not been able to walk soon. She was in pain and you can still see the burn marks on the top of her back feet where she was dragging her legs along. She is almost perfect, but still wobbles a bit on the back and walks a little side ways. BUT she is just the happiest dog now and is so much bette. The vet said she may always have a little limp to her but compared to how she was he is just so pleased with her progress. She is a doll, she loves everyone, has a favorite doggie bed that she curls up in. She likes riding in the car and going on walks and she loves to eat. She was pretty skinny when we brought her in and is now gaining some weight, she does have a little nervous urination (small) but since her surgery that seems to be getting much better, every day is another step forward, this is one really neat dog.
