My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello. My name is Liam. I am around 8 months old and I weigh about 20 lbs.
I was found as a stray in the country on a back road...
You see, there is a large pack of feral dogs in the area that the pound is working on trapping. A lot of the other dogs are very skinny. Others have old injuries and all kinds of stuff. None of us have felt human touch prior to arriving at the pound.
We were sticking around one farm in particular. They had some "outside dogs" chained to dog boxes and we would bed with them and they shared their food with us. We liked it there but again, we were just strays, likely born in the wild and never had human contact. Of course we were used to seeing humans and we didn't really run from them at all, we just wouldn't come to anyone.
I am probably one of the only dogs out there that the pound will be able to safely place in a home or rescue.
I spend a lot of my time in the office with the peoples and I'm digging it! I have slept so much! I love not having to worry about anything trying to "get me" here! I curl up on the bed and sleep. It's so comfy! Much better than those old dog houses!
I must say I am LOVING life here right now!!
I am nothing but happiness and tail wags when the peoples talk to me! I love that!
I also like it when the peoples sit down net to me and rub and scratch me. Although it's not something I am used to, I do enjoy it.
I come around more and more every day. I have so much potential to make a great, loving family member.
Due to being born outside and not having much human interaction, I will require a VERY dog savvy home. The pound doesn't suggest that I go to a first time doggy parent.
I will require lots of extra love and patience to help me adjust to this lovely new kind of life!!
I will need help with learning house training 'cause I don't know anything about that business yet.
I should go to a home with a securely fenced yard in case I happen to slip out.
I am a super sweet boy so please consider adopting me!

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER SEPTEMBER 30, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY NEUTER SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
