My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How cute is Koda? Koda is a 4 month old Hound/Shepherd mix from Puerto Rico who weighs about 19 lbs. Koda is a completely different dog after a week in his foster home. At first he was shut down and fearful. He didn't move much and didn't do much of anything. Hello playful puppy! Koda loves life, he loves his foster mom and any people he meets, but most of all he loves other dogs. He really comes out of his shell when there are other dogs around, especially ones that he can play with! He is learning how to be a dog, and he really follows the lead of the other dogs that he is staying with. Koda will do best in a home with another dog or dogs.

Koda likes to sit on the couch but he doesn't jump up, he slithers his body up which is really cute. He is doing really well with house training but he will need some more work in that area. Koda appears to be very thankful to his foster mom for taking him out of the shelter, and he likes to show her that by coming up to her to give her kisses and hugs. He leans his body up against her and just stays there. It is very sweet. Koda is woking on crate training. He doesn't love it, he will whine a bit at first but he does settle down and sleeps in his crate overnight and spends time in there when his foster mom is not at home.

Koda is learning his name and is doing very well with the come command. He is working on sit;. He has gone of a few walks and hikes and he is a superstar when it comes to walking on leash. His tail is wagging all the time, he is such a grateful little pup. He is learning how to play with toys and loves to chew on them. He runs around his foster home pouncing and playing. Koda has been fine with children. He is a generally calm puppy with bursts of playfulness. Koda is also not a barkerHe is an amazing dog and whoever adopts him will be extremely lucky.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.Koda
