Olympia's Story...
Olympia is a ten year old German Shorthaired Pointer or a GSP mix who is a senior with a lot of spunk! She may be in her golden years chronologically but not in her attitude. Olympia loves to walk and has a lot of energy for an older dog. She likes dogs and she still likes to play. The benefit of adopting an older dog like Olympia is that she is already house-trained, she has a calm, balanced energy; she is quiet, respectful and someone taught her basic obedience. It is clear that her former family loved her a lot, since she is well socialized with both people and pets. We will never know her true story of her life since she came into the South L.A. shelter as a stray. It is hard for us at Downtown Dog Rescue to imagine this friendly dog wandering the streets of South L.A. for too long. As friendly as Olympia is, we bet that she greeted every stranger she met. Olympia is a wonderful dog who deserves to have the golden years of her life in a loving home. She is spayed, up-to-date with shots and is also micro-chipped. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Olympia, a Los Angeles German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
