Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello. My name is Tippy. I am about 5 years old and I weigh about 70 lbs (I’m a bit overweight).
I was surrendered to the pound along with my friends Pup-kin, Mitzi and Susie after our owner was arrested.
We were left alone for several days before anyone realized we were there alone. Finally, our neighbor (which is some relation to our owner) had his daughter get us and bring us in to the pound. She described our owner as not being mentally stable.
The pound did call the police department to verify that our owner was indeed arrested. They verified that he was arrested and there was nobody to care for us.
I lived outside, and I kind of consider myself lucky because the house that my friends had to live in was deplorable. The house was laden with feces and urine and trash. Although I never got to know the luxuries of being inside the house while I was at my old place, I am excited to move on to my new life and family where I will get to be an “inside dog”!
Of course, I will need patience and understanding as I learn to acclimate to life inside the house. It shouldn’t take too long though as I’ve made myself quite comfy here at the pound. I love having a cozy bed and blanket to curl up on and sleep. I even keep my kennel clean at night. The pound thinks that if I have trouble with potty training, crate training would definitely be the route to go.
Despite being kept outside and probably not looked after much, my coat, surprisingly enough doesn’t really have many mats. I do need a good grooming because I’m shedding pretty bad and I do have some matted hair here and there, especially on my backside.
I am a nice boy with people and I get along well with the other doggies I have met here at the pound so far.
If you’re looking for a sweet and loving boy to add to your family, please consider adopting me!
I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.
PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER OCTOBER 1, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.
MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY NEUTER SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.
THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
