Hello! My name is Peaches and my foster Mom says I am the sweetest bird she has ever met! I am a 16 year old Moluccan Cockatoo and I came into foster care because my parronts were very sick and no longer able to care for me. I do miss them, but am also looking forward to finding a new family who can give me all of the love and attention that I deserve! I step up willingly and I love to sit by your shoulder or on your chest and give snuggles. I like to lay my head down and wait for you to scritch my favorite spots! I also like to clean fingernails and my foster family says I am super gentle when I do that. I do have two toenails that are malformed, but I doubt you will notice. I did used to chew my feathers some in my previous home, but I have begun to stop that behavior and will continue to work on it with my foster family. I love foraging toys and I also love being the center of attention - hey, I am a Moluccan after all! I also like to talk and can say Peaches is a pretty girl, pretty bird, Chappy, and I can even wolf whistle! I also like to make the kissy sound when I want a kiss from you. I love being around kids, they provide me with lots of enjoyment and the action and entertainment I crave. I have even become a mascot for my foster brothers baseball team (don’t worry – my foster family is very careful with me when we go outside and when around children and sports). Just so you know, I was in my old home with a Goffin Cockatoo named Baybee whom, while we are not bonded, I do get along with very well, so if you are looking for two birds, please check him out – he is also very sweet! An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
