Duncan was found abandoned in a school yard while he was scrounging around for food. He must have been there for days because he was starving. Though we are not sure of his history, it appears that he had been beaten at some point. He is very submissive when it comes to human contact. Any type of movement toward him makes him cower. He quickly overcomes his fear with a gentle touch. He loves his little friend who is pictured with him in one of the photos. She he very gentle with him and let's him come to her. She won his heart quickly. He will fit in with almost any family setting but it would be best if he didn't go into a home with a toddler. Duncan is a very calm and laid back boy who just wants a home where he will be loved.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
