Sandy's Story...
My name is Sandy and I am pleased to be here and meet you. I am a happy lady. I am an active gal who enjoys going for walks and spending time with my people. I recently finished rearing a puppy and am ready to have the focus be on me and you! My pup came here to find a home of her own. Shaggy is here looking for her new family too. I am a small size weighing in at just about 10 pounds and the folks aren't sure but think I may have some JRT, Chihuahua mixed in. As an adult rescue I am looking for a home with more of an adult slant, like one with children headed into their teens. I am perfect apartment size, fit nicely into the passenger seat of your car so travel with me is easy. I am really looking forward to meeting my soul mate so stop procrastinating and come on down to the "this dog is right" show today!
Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information please PHONE the shelter (978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk) instead of sending emails.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Gloucester Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
