Thunder is one dog who can truly be called "man's best friend". He wants to love and be loved; he loves interaction with his human as much as he loves running and stretching his legs in search for a new scent. He also likes a good squeaky toy. He doesn't mind getting his coat wet from human tears and he seems to understand when someone needs him. He will sit/lay down on command and is food motivated so teaching him new tricks should be easier. He can play with the best but he always wants to come back for a quiet hug and night time curled up with his human. He is very afraid of thunder and cars, but he gets through anything as long as he is not alone. If you are interested in giving Thunder the forever home he deserves, fill out an adoption application today.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
