I am available for Adoption

Meet Phoenix. He came to Rescue in 2014. Soon after arriving he became paralyzed from the waist down after committing one of his scandalous deeds. He was rushed to Azzore Veterinary Specialties in Russellville, AR where Dr. Dew did back surgery on him. That surgery with diagnostics was $3600 and Hooray!!! Phoenix walks again!! He must now wear a belly band and has questionable control. He is currently up for adoption, but his new parents would have to be committed to helping him have a comfortable life. The new parents would sign a contract that he will receive appropriate vet care prior to any other options. He currently is able to walk with a limp, but has difficulties with slick surfaces and stairs. Despite his best effort, he sometimes does not make it outside. He is a handsome fellow and must have parents who are fully committed to him and his ongoing veterinary needs. Phoenix is a happy guy and always gets along with everyone and every puggy. If you have a Rescue heart, Phoenix is your man. He is very sensitive, so he must have very compassionate guardians.
Adoption fee will be $250.00

If you would like to be considered for Phoenix's forever family, please complete an adoption application and e-mail it to pugrescuenwa@yahoo.com

About Pug Rescue NWA

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a devoted group of people who appreciate the uniqueness of a pug. Pugs are A lot of Dog in a Small Space. We understand their special challenges, their medical problems and know that they are not the right dog for every family. They shed, they snore, they sneeze and they are prone to eye injuries. They also snuggle and love their humans with all that they have.

Through a variety of circumstances, pugs end up as strays, in Shelters or are owner-surrenders due to no fault of the dog. We take ANY pug in need, return them to the best health possible and work to find them the perfect FOREVER home for that particular dog.

We take this job very seriously! If we are going to look the dog in the eyes and tell them we are sending them to a better circumstance - we will believe it with all our heart.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions require a completed application, reference checks, a home visit, an adoption fee and a contract that states that the dog will be returned to us if the adoption doesn't work out for any reason. All of our adoptable dogs will be temperament evaluated, spayed or neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations and heartworm tested - unless health circumstances prohibit it.

Please don’t wait until you see your ‘DREAM’ dog before submitting an application to adopt. Getting your application pre-approved will keep your next family member from having to be in foster care for very long.
