Edith's Story...
Meet Edith! Edith's exact breeds are unknown, but she is thought to be a lab/hound mix. She was born around March of 2014 and currently weighs approximately 25 pounds. Edith, named after the sister in the popular children's cartoon Despicable Me, is a happy bubbly girl just dying to go home with you and start her forever life! She loves to play outdoors, and enjoys the company of other dogs. Her siblings and her had a rough start to life, and they lost two of their sisters along the way. So it's important to find them all families so they can continue the lives of their sisters who cannot be with them now. Edith is currently crate-trained, mostly housebroken, and does well on the leash though is still learning some. She listens and responds easily to direction, and learns quickly so training should be a breeze with her. Edith currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Portland because we have amazing volunteers who live here to help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $150. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The grand total for adopting this pet including adoption fee and airline/transportation fee to the Portland airport is $375. If you would like to adopt Edith, please fill out an adoption application at under the More Information tab. Please contact us at with any questions. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Edith, a Portland Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
