Hello,

My name is Solara and I am an 8 month old, happy Border Collie who loves to play, cuddle, and be with my owner. While I am very sweet, foster mom says I also have a sassy playful side too. People often complement me on my eyes. I am quite petite and have a beautiful coat.

I have been with my foster mom for 1 week so I am still getting used to my new routine. I sleep in my crate at night without a peep and while I am not terribly excited to go in there after our morning play while mom goes to work, I am still quiet and settle in nicely while I get some more rest.

When foster mom comes home we play for a while or go on new adventures, then I like to cuddle up with her on her lap and get some good ear scratches.

Foster mom is showing me that its OK to just chill on my own too while I chew on an antler or toy. I find it quite soothing with all of these changes of moving into a new home.

I am told to sit and wait at the door every time we go in and out until I am released. Since mom lives in an apartment - we have multiple doors to go through, so I get plenty of practice. Foster mom says I picked up on "stay" better than any other of her previous fosters.

We have met new people, new dogs and been out and about. I originally was slightly cautious meeting new people and dogs. Once I sniff them out I am A OK, I just need to get a good sniff in first especially if the other human or animal is bigger than me. Sometimes when dogs or people approach me too fast it makes me a little unsure of things. Foster mom says she saw a drastic improvement this past weekend now that I am more familiar with my routine and know my foster mom better so I know I can trust her. I pranced around Petsmart on Saturday like I was a queen.

Foster mom had me around a little yorkie and two little humans (1 1/2 and 3 1/2 year olds) the other day, we all played really well together and had lots of fun! Those mini humans sure are silly.

We also went kayaking this weekend. Boy did we have fun! I sat in the kayak and took in all the smells, watched birds fly over us, and tried to stick my nose in the water (brrr Lake Huron is cold right now!). Mom said I sat so still in the kayak, she was really impressed. All of the new smells and new adventures wore me out though, so I actually fell asleep on the paddle back to land.

Thanks for checking out my profile. If you are interested adopting me, please apply via MWBCR.org and contact my foster mom Lindsay.

Thanks!

Solara
