Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pulled from a hoarding situation, sweet and silly Toto with his harvest moon eyes came to us with gingivitis not just bad, but scary (Wicked Witch of the West scary). Unfortunately, he lost all of his teeth, but though toothless, Toto is talkative. He’ll chirp at visitors and rub against them for pets and scratches. He is absolutely a darling with other cats—rubbing sweetly against them and playing with them enthusiastically. This perfect cat would be an ideal addition to any home. Toto tests positive for FIV*, but he would do well in a home with cats who test negative. He was born around 2012.
*Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) causes a weakening of the immune system in cats. It's often compared to human HIV, but FIV is not transferable to humans or other species. It is also difficult to transfer to other sterilized cats, and we believe that mixed FIV and non-FIV households can work if managed properly. If kept indoors in a stress-free environment, with regular medical care and high-quality nutrition, most FIV+ cats live long and healthy lives. Tree House staff can help answer your questions to see if an FIV+ cat is the right choice for you. FIV+ cats adopted from Tree House are eligible for a lifetime veterinary-care plan that includes a free annual exam and discounted treatments.
