My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Hello, my friends! My name is JACK, and I'm a very cute nine-month-old Basenji/ Chihuahua mix pup who is sure to entertain you. I'm smart, alert, and fun-loving. You should see how well I play fetch. I'll bring that ball right back to you! I'd do best if I have a yard to run around in, and I'd need a good walk each day. It takes me a minute to get to know a new person, so I tend to hang back in my kennel when strangers initially visit me. I'm very loving and affectionate once I get to know somebody, so I hope you'll give me a chance. If you ask our helpful staff to take me out to the play yard, you'll get the opportunity to see me shine! I will be a truly loyal friend to the person or family who adopts me. If a family adopts me, I'd want to be in a home with older, considerate kids, and I'd want to be part of the family. Also, I get along well with other dogs. The shelter staff is fairly confident that I've already been house trained, but I'll probably need a refresher course when I get to my new home. Plus, I am just a youngster, so my body will need some time to mature. Won't you please come visit me here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter? We can hang out in the great play yard that they have here, and we can have lots of fun in the process. I think you'll find that I'm a lovable and playful pooch who'll brighten your day.
