My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a cross-post for Silver Lake Animal Rescue League!

Hope came in to a local shelter as a stray in poor condition. You could count her rib bones, she had missing fur from an untreated flea allergy and her ears were so badly infected that they were swollen and filled with blood. It was also obvious that she had puppies not too long ago. Despite the pain and discomfort she was in, she would always wag her tail whenever a stranger appeared and was happy to see all people - even the veterinarians! Luckily, Silver Lake took this girl into a foster home and had her treated. She has put on weight, her missing fur has grown back and she was healthy enough to have surgery on her ears so that she does not have to continue having ear infections. She should be fully recovered from her ear surgery and ready for adoption at the end of October or early November.

Hope is about 3 years old and weighs about 63 lbs. She is a major LOVE BUG and loves ALL people, including children. She also loves dogs and likes to give them big kisses. She enjoys cuddling and being a lap dog. She is EXCELLENT in the car, walks pretty well on a leash and loves her dog toys. She is fully housebroken and crate trained. Hope is a Pit mix, possibly with spaniel or Lab.

Hope has an amazing disposition and has not shown any aggression at all, even when she was in pain. People who meet her fall in love with her. She is a REALLY nice, smart, sweet and loving dog.

A fenced in yard is required for Hope's safety. No electric fences please.
