Here's what the humans have to say about me:
COURTESY LISTING for LUCY and RICKY. These dogs are not at Oregon Dachshund Rescue. For information please contact Patricia at canuckluv4@gmail.com
Two beautiful half-siblings looking for a new journey together…Through difficult times they have made it through, but this time, it proved too much. Their family lost their home and the new environment will not support Ricky & Lucy so they are being surrendered.
Ricky is 8 years old, neutered shorthair dapple weighing 25 lbs. Lucy is 7 years old, spayed longhair black/brown weighing 25 lbs. Both are healthy, are up to date on vaccinations, receive flea treatment on a regular basis but they could use a good dental cleaning. Neither has any medications, which can be unusual for senior dogs; however, Lucy has a skin issue with scratching.
Ricky and Lucy like other dogs, like to give cats a friendly chase and are OK with kids, although Ricky is less tolerant. They love being outdoors going on walks but like most doxies, Ricky does not like the rain. They know a few commands, are potty trained outside and if you are ready to play ball, Ricky is your teammate! Lucy likes a more relaxed lifestyle. They will definitely make a great addition to your family and deservingly so.
ODR, INC. ADOPTION CRITERIA (aka Our Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
