Here's what the humans have to say about me:
4/20/08 Thomas has been adopted into a home with 4 other dogs and is making strides each day. We're very happy for him!
Not your average bear! Thomas is a 1 1/2 year old lab, possibly pure-bred. He is in need of a loving and very patient environment with experienced dog owners, perhaps one where he can spend a lot of time outdoors with maybe one other dog. Thomas originally was found as a stray with his four siblings in rural Georgia where they were trying to scrounge food and take any kind of shelter. They were only 5 months old at the time. After being saved from death row in a shelter, they went to live in a sanctuary environment - 12 acres, lots of dogs, but not a lot of human socialization. They all grew up to be large and afraid, but had to leave the only safe home they knew because the sanctuary was shut down when the family lost their home insurance. He is described as a feral dog, so he doesn't know much about home life. He does, however, like the company of other large dogs and likes to be outside. He's very tentative with male humans but has made great strides with females. A home without young children is a must, and an indoor/outdoor environment would be best for Thomas. Do you have this kind of home? He needs training and socialization and lots of love.
