ESTHER is a gorgeous 2 year-old black Schnauzer.
She weighs 21 lbs. But don’t let that beauty fool you – she has had it rough. She was born and raised in an awful place called a puppy mill. She was having babies when most puppies should be running and playing in the back yard without a care in the world. Not so for Esther!
She may always be a work in progress because of that! She needs a very special family that will overlook her shyness and fear and encourage her to trust and accept love. She needs a family who won’t give up on her!!
Since arriving in her foster home (in Indianapolis, IN) Esther has come a long way! She has been exposed to a lot of things that she had never seen before. Toys, soft beds, and good food being a few. She has adjusted well, but still has some trust issues with new people.
She is potty trained (with a few accidents) and is learning to walk on a leash.
She loves toys – she cleans out the toy box about every night! She takes her favorite ones to her bed to play with them.
She will cuddle on the couch next to her foster mom; and she sleeps in the bed with everyone at night. Esther is good with other dogs – and cats. She should be in a home where someone is home all day or with at least one other dog. This is important to puppy mill survivors – they need companionship.
Esther deserves a forever home where she can be part of the family. If you are that special someone who can give Esther the secure life she deserves, please submit an adoption application with her name on it and someone from SRC will contact you.
Esther is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and is HW negative and on preventative. Her adoption fee is $275.
