Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Don't let the scruffy tuxedo fool you, Fred Astaire is actually the rescue's resident bruiser boy. Two days after we rescued Fred from a high kill shelter, he bolted from the front door of his foster home and spent three rainy, cold nights on the streets. We searched and canvassed and though our guy was skinny and bruised (he still has a cut on his head from what we think is a tail pipe burn) we found this little survivor relatively unscathed! Now in a foster home with a side door that leads to a securely fenced yard, Fred has shown that he is a dog that needs a bit of time to truly come out of his shell but once he does, wow, what an amazing Chihuahua! Cute as a button and great with dogs and cats, Fred will be a perfect match for any family that will give him the time he needs to acclimate to his new home. While Frederick would be happy with another dog friend or just fine flying solo, he will require a family (he loves kids!) that likes to cuddle and will let him sleep under a blanket, at least during TV time. Freddy is crate trained and is working on perfecting his housebreaking skills with both outside and potty pad training. Extremely intelligent and likely pad trained at some point in his life, he is catching on quickly! Fred Astaire is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. if you are interested in adopting Fred, please complete an application from www.ruffstarthappytails.org
