My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet little Spunky! We think Spunky is a Beagle/Terrier mix. Her sister Missy (also available for adoption) looks like a Schnauzer/Beagle mix, so it is possible Spunky is part Schnauzer too. She is quite a unique blend of lots of great dogs! Spunky is approximately 6 months old, calm, sweet, and playful once she feels comfortable. UPDATE FROM FOSTER: Spunky is an adorable bundle of joy with her doxi nose, schnauzer eyes, beagle ears, and curled pug tail, a very unique individual. She is pretty much full grown, about 6 months old and weighs 15 lbs. When she first arrived she was a little shy but she is now a happy little girl that loves to follow me everywhere. When she plays in the yard she runs and leaps like a little fawn and it is quite captivating to watch her frolic. When I come home she can’t contain her joy and cries with delight that her human is home. When she is indoors she loves to be near me but will happily play with her toys if I am busy. Lately she has begun quietly talking to her toys especially if it is a squeaky one. Spunky is an absolute joy to be fostering, gives lots of little kisses and she is so easy to take care of. She gets along well with my other dogs and cat. She is housebroken or will go to the papers if she needs to go in the middle of the night, but normally sleeps like a little log. Spunky is up to date will all her vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped. She may not do well around little children because she is still a bit shy and gets startled by loud noises. Spunky is already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. She is ready to trot happily into her forever home. Could it be with you?
If interested in adopting, please visit www.masrescue.org and click on "Adopt Here". You will find the adoption application at the bottom of the page. The adoption fee is $250.00. Please Note: 100% of all the adoption fees collected are used to care for the animals, and pay our ever increasing vet bill. We appreciate your interest in adopting from a rescue organization. We understand the desire to meet our "cuties" as soon as possible, but because we operate entirely out of foster homes, we need to limit visitation to approved applicants only. Once your completed application is submitted by you and approved by MASR, we will be glad to schedule your visit. This puppy has been examined by our vet, and provided with first vaccinations and initial preventatives. Please be aware that it is the opinion of this rescue group, in conjunction with dog behaviorists, that a young puppy benefits greatly with proper socialization. We will only place puppies in homes where they have the opportunity to be with someone all day, travel to work, or have special arrangements, such as Puppy Day Care, Dog Walker, etc. Puppies benefit greatly from Obedience Training - and we encourage you to check out http://www.pupsdogobediencetraining.com/ . They offer a great discount for training of puppies coming from MAS Rescue! Breed Selection is 'Best Efforts' given by shelter staff, veterinarians and rescue volunteers. NO guarantees are implied. Please note that small breeds are not well designed for families with young children as everything about them is more delicate and will require careful handling. Remember, adoption is a commitment for the lifetime of your new furry friend; dogs could live 15 years or more!!
