Atlas's Story...
Please visit our main website for information about our adoption procedure. http://www.whimsys-menagerie.com/adoptioninformation.htm

Atlas was originally brought in as a surrender from a college student whose lifestyle became incompatible with chin ownership. While here we managed to bond Atlas to a 17 year old surrender and adopted as a pair by a family of one of our Girl Scout volunteers as a "short -term" commitment.

At age 19, Merlin passed away leaving Atlas alone again. Atlas is approximately 10 years old and so far, we've not been able to find him a compatible new friend. He seems very set in his ways and not receptive to other chins.

Atlas is very spry! He does not act his age at all. This little guy is full of energy and would do well with someone who can be patient with him. Once again, he is available for adoption for someone who is looking for a shorter term commitment in chin ownership.

Adoption fee: $75 or $200 with complete (single) cage set up.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Atlas, a Virginia Beach Chinchilla was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chinchilla for sale in Virginia Beach, or seeking a Chinchilla from a breeder in Virginia Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Virginia Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Virginia Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chinchilla breeders who help with Chinchilla rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Virginia Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
