Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dexter is a 5 year old Siberian Husky weighing 48 lbs. Adopted from the Humane Society at 1 year old, he has known only love and care with his family. Unfortunately, his military family is relocating to Bahrain and he will be unable to join them overseas. Dexter suffers from separation anxiety and his family felt he could not handle the 22 hour plane ride, weeks in a hotel, and two years in a strange place. They fear for his safety because he is quite the escape artist. Dexter's separation anxiety is most severe after relocating. It seems to be moderate when he's settled in one place. Dexter is one of the most loving dogs they've ever known. He loves to cuddle by your feet and snuggle with you in bed. He will befriend anybody that pets his head. He does not find interest in fetch unless it is a brand new squeaky toy from the store. He is a great running companion and will make you feel out of shape with his capabilities. Dexter needs a home that does not have cats or very small dogs. Unfortunately, those are breakfast and dinner to him. He can be quite a ninja when it comes to fences, so he would need a yard with a very tall fence, 6', that he cannot jump, or a home that has a balcony for him to spend his day watching the world. It was discovered that he loves to sit out on upper balconies and "people watch" all day long which seems to negate his separation anxiety. Dexter does well in doggie daycare with dogs his size. This beautiful Husky with light blue eyes is in need of a loving home with a large yard, constant companionship with an active family, and lots of patience. And he is great with children.
