My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is a very sweet and cuddly tiny six pound Shih Tzu who is about three years old. When he first came to our rescue he had very long hair but it was so matted that we had to do an emergency grooming on him. Unfortunately, most of his hair had to be shaved off so he has very short hair right now. But it will soon grow out to be a beautiful, luxurious coat.

Max loves walks and loves to be with his people. He enjoys sitting on your lap or near your feet in a dog bed. Once this little guy trusts and bonds with you, you will be forever in his heart.
He is great with his foster dog brother and sister and likes to play with them. He is also good with his foster parents’ two cats. He loves their fourteen year old son and he sleeps in bed with him at night. Max is potty trained and is taken out on regular basis (about every 4 hours).
Max is a true companion dog and because of this, he needs to be with someone who will be home most of the day or at least able to come home and give him potty breaks. He would do best in a home where his new family will include him in their daily activities. Max loves children but he would do best with older respectful children.

Max is in great health, is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $320.00 plus sales tax of $23.38, for a total of $343.28. His foster parents are willing to drive within one hour of the Twin Cities to visit an adoptive home. They would also encourage his adopters to attend the rescue reunion held in June every year.

Before contacting Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota regarding any dog, please thoroughly read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html first to help you understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. You will also find an online adoption application there. To meet Max and other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota, please visit with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale the last Saturday of every month.
