Major's Story...
This is a courtesy posting of an owned pet. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please contact the owner at the contact information listed below.

Major is a three year old Flat coated Retriever / Golden Retriever Mix, who is amazingly sweet and loves people. We moved to Minnesota last year from Seattle and he has never been able to adjust. While in Washington we went to the dog park every day to help ease his separation anxiety, although he was never quite cured he seemed to enjoy going everywhere with me. Since we moved here we have not been able to take him to the park on daily basis as he was used to. I have three kids and he is a wonderful companion, but being close to 90lbs, he intimidates most other kids who want to come over to play, so we simply have refrained from hosting playdates as Major refuses to stay in the crate. I absolutely love him, as does the rest of my family, but currently I have my kids in three different schools and we have an impending move out of state, and to make things worse for him I will be joining the workforce once again next year. Due to all these issues I feel that I will not have the time to properly care for him the way he deserves.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Major, a Anoka Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Anoka, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Anoka.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Anoka already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Anoka breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Anoka paves the way for another one to be saved.
