My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Benny loves his name and is glued to my side. This dog is an absolute dream. He is so sweet, happy, playful and cuddly. Benny could be the perfect companion to a person/child who needs a best friend. He is very quiet, sincere, & faithful. He was obviously very loved in his previous life. Benny is a wonderful dog and will be a excellent family companion. He is approximately 1 1/2 years old and currently weighs 53 lbs.

Here is what else his foster family had to say:

Benny is way too sweet. he would have no idea what aggression is. He loves everyone and is great with my one year old as pictured below. He greets every person, dog, cat with a tailwag and a lick. We have an older Golden Retreiver and an older cat. When Benny met Max he brought him a toy....realized Max didn't want to play, so he took the toy to Puss. Puss didn't want to play so you can see in the attached video......he played by himself. I laughed like crazy for an hour watching him.

Benny will run to my side if there's a startling noise in the house and he doesn't know what it is. His favourite things are playing and snuggling. He also loves to fetch or play chase. If you get down to the ground he'll snuggle in and roll all over you and lick your face. He is sooooooo quiet. I don't hear him coming up behind me. He has not made a sound since I've had him. Not one single bark! (A neighbour's dream :-) )

Benny is VERY VERY obedient. He loves food. When I'm in the kitchen he's sitting very patiently in front of me just in case he'll get a treat. He does not counter surf. he has not chewed anything but his own toys. He always comes when I call his name and automatically sits in front of me waiting for the next command. When I give him a treat, he takes it very gently. Seriously.....dream dog.

Benny is fully house trained. There is absolutely no reason to crate this boy. He points to the leash we keep near the front door when he wants out....or he'll grab the ball and sit by the front door. He will pull on the leash if he hasn't had a run yet or sees a squirrel. I jog with him and he keeps a great pace, stopping occasionally to take a sniff. A young child or weaker person would have an issue with him on the leash because he is strong. He loves to go out but wants you to come out with him. He never bolts out the door and does not take off. The second you call him he's back. In fact he's at the front door waiting to go in before I get to the front step. He is perfect in the car ...no anxiety whatsoever. Loves to just look out the window.

Benny is: Very quiet....does not bark.
Affectionate with everyone.
Loves to play....knows when to calm down.
Very handsome.

I had 12 women in my house yesterday for a demonstration and every single one of them wanted to take him home.....none of them were deserving of him though. I'm going to be very fussy about the family that deserves this beauty. He deserves the best. Family needs to be able to have access to a large property, or park where Benny can run happily every day and play with other dogs or kids. A tired dog is a good dog. At the dog park, Benny is the best behaved dog there every time. Runs and plays with the other dogs but always comes right back to me to "check in".

If you think this beautiful boy would do well with your family, please submit an application for consideration.
