My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zoey. She is an 11 year old Yorkie who weights 5lbs. Zoey is doing well in foster care and is ready to be adopted. She is a little shy at first, but bonds quickly with one person. Eventually, she becomes comfortable with other members of the family, but has her favorite. She is leery of men and small children. She is doing great on potty training. She like to go outside as long as it is not too cold or rainy. She should be accompanied outside at all times. Her small size makes her ideal prey for large birds or other wild animals.
She loves to sleep on the big bed at night. During the day she does like to nap in a comfy dog bed. She will snuggle up with you on the couch, too. She does need assistance getting on and off furniture. She is too small and cannot jump well. Nor should she be allowed to jump off furniture. She does have a luxating patella (floating knee cap) which is very common is small breeds. It does not bother her and does not require surgery at this time. She runs like a rabbit - hopping along with her back legs in synch with each other. She is comfortable going up & down carpeted steps. She does like to be carried down non carpeted steps. She likes very short walks & is not fond of car rides. She recently had a dental and lost 3 teeth, There are a few other teeth that should be monitored. She eats soft food and loves Pupperoni dog treats. She is very sweet and loving once she gets to know you. She can be a bossy pants with other small dogs.
