My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Pappy. I'm about 12 years old and I weigh about 60 lbs.
I was picked up by the pound after they received a complaint about the way I was being cared for...
You see, my owner moved from the place she was staying at with me. Her roommate told her I could stay with her since her new place wouldn't allow her to have me... To make a long story short, my basic needs were being neglected. I was crawling with fleas and as a result, I was/am missing a decent amount of fair from my hind end. She chained me up to a dog house outside. I wasn't used to that at all! I was a house dog! I have large, open pressure sores on my elbows, which are now finally starting to heal up.
I was treated for fleas upon my arrival at the pound and I am already feeling much better and I'm even sprouting new hairs.
I am a very gentle and sweet boy. I love getting attention from people. I am very quiet and low key. I enjoy spending most of my time just lounging around on the warm doggy beds sleeping. I usually only get up when I'm hungry or thirsty or when I need to go outside.. And speaking of going outside, I appear to be completely housebroken! I haven't had any accidents since the first couple of nights here and that was only because I had diarrhea and just couldn't hold it any more.
I get along just fine with other dogs. I do prefer to just be left alone most of the time, so obviously I don't really appreciate young pups that want to roughhouse and jump on me.
I am really hoping someone will look past my age, realize what a great boy I am and adopt me!

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer. I am an older boy, so naturally, I am a little stiff in the hips at times.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER NOVEMBER 4, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH INCLUDES MY NEUTER, MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
