Fred-pending adoption's Story...
Fred is a very sweet, adorable 4 year old dapple dachshund rescued from a puppy mill. Little guy had to have 9 teeth pulled during his dental. He is still a little shy but gaining in confidence every day. He will be a definite tail thumper someday. He is doing well with both crate training and house training. He enjoys the company of his one year old dachshund foster brothers and is starting to actively run and play with them. He prefers to be in sight of his person whether that is outside or inside. He is learning what toys are for and loves to roll in the grass. Fred requires a home with no children. Adoption donation for Fred is $300 and goes towards the high costs of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.

Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fred-pending adoption, a Omaha Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Omaha, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Omaha.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Omaha already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Omaha breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Omaha paves the way for another one to be saved.
