My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LUCY #4 is a 4 ½ month old spayed black female Lab who weighs 32 pounds. Lucy was a stray and ended up at the shelter with a broken leg. Upon examination it was found that her leg had 2 other old breaks that had not healed correctly. The shelter and our vet determined that her leg could not be repaired properly and recommended that it be amputated. She was not using her leg before she had surgery and had already compensated for its loss. She is getting around no problems at all with three legs, stairs and all. She has no clue that the leg is gone. Lucy is a favorite at the vets, is doing great and has no idea that she only has three legs! Lucy is a very sweet and energetic girl. She is keeping her room clean at the vet and is doing great with leash walking. She is approved for kids 8+.:
Update (11/16) Lucy's Limericks:
Now that I'm feeling like myself, you know a 5 month old puppy, Reese and I play alot. As you can see, I'm usually the instigator and I like to talk during our play time. Being a tripod doesn't stop me one bit. Even though it's gotten cold, I like going outside. Foster Mom caught me with a gardening glove today and we played Keep Away. Foster Mom cheated when she used treats to distract me to get the glove back. Well, I guess I still won because I got treats! I'm still looking for my forever home. So, if you want a lively precious puppy, I'm your girl! Call your AC to set up an appointment.
Love,
Lucy

Update (11/07):Today is a wonderful day for this puppy! As you can see, Dr. Holley and Whitney checked me out and all my staples have been removed. I was a really good girl even though a couple of them hurt while they were being taken out. Dr. Holley said that they rotated. She tried to be real gentle but I did let them know that it hurt. I know they did the best they could. I did give them kisses afterwards along with hitting them with my lethal happy girl wagging tail. BUT, do you know what that means?!!! No more horrible "cone of shame" to have to have on at night. But,...more importantly, I can get my full on puppy play going with Reese!!! I still weigh around 36 pounds and that's a great weight for me right now. Remember, I'm a puppy and I still have some growing to do. Well, I'm going out to romp in the backyard.

Update 11/04): Well this puppy has shown foster Mom that she can pretty much do anything she wants. This morning after we all went outside for our business, we all got up on the foster parents bed. I haven't quite figured out how to jump up that high off the hardwood floors but Foster Mom helped me up. That was fun. I rooted around on the covers while I got belly rubs. I'm thinking home living is just what this girl needs! Foster Mom and Dad say I'm a good girl and I listen well. I'm also a good eater! I get to eat chicken, green beans, & warm chicken broth on my puppy food too! No complaints here! Well I have to go take my puppy nap now.
