Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Rocky" is a super cute longhaired, blue Merle, dappled boy! We recently drove to Sealy to pick up this handsome pup from his terrific temporary foster family. We soon whisked him to the country for a Texas ranch weekend. To say that Rocky had fun was putting it mildly. He helped mow the grass, hook up the tractor, wash and feed the horses, check the fence lines and accidentally herd the cattle. That last activity was quickly nipped in the bud before Rocky was "rocketing" skyward courtesy of a ticked off heifer!! He met our three dachshunds and one confused German Shorthaired pointer like a seasoned diplomat and was soon having his first meal along side them in the cook shack. Though he does love running in the great outdoors, the high energy Rocky surprised us with his perfect house manners. He is a busy boy, but not at all destructive or needy. He does like to know where you are and checks in frequently. He is completely house trained and likes to rest and sleep in his crate. Rocky loves water and had fun after the big Monday rains, running through puddles and getting soaked. He enjoys a bath, has a silky soft coat which appears to be very low maintenance. Wash and go, not a tangle anywhere!
Rocky does have some deficits with his eye sight, an unfortunate result of having two dappled parents. This may explain his initial "reactive" behavior to sudden movements and being bumped and jostled, especially in low light. Usually he just "yips" and turns toward the offender but because of his diminished vision, Rocky will need just a little extra supervision and thoughtful handling. Very small requirements for the huge return of dachshund devotion. Please save our family from another "foster failure". Adopt precious Rocket Regensberg now!
