Modest Millie has a face that holds a story of redemption and pain that would make your heart break if she could tell it. It is a face and spirit filled with longing and a deep need to belong. This 5 year old Hound/Beagle mix, barely taller than a large Beagle, was found lying under a porch, just given birth days before to yet another litter of pups. She was lucky enough to have her life changed when her plight was brought to the attention of some caring rescue volunteers. Millile raised her puppies and has come through so much in the past 3 months as she has blossomed and emerged from a cocoon of sad injustices in her life. Modest Millie has a need to be free, to run and explore her surroundings and yet her compass is set to always come home where she is loved. She is a girl who wants to experience the wide open spaces of the countryside and the comforts of a home, maybe a fireplace to lay by with her own special dog bed to curl up on during a cold winter night. She is fine with other dogs and even cats. She loves the compassion and attention of humans and looks into your eyes and heart searching for approval and love.
