My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet ANNIE

Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. rescues Dachshunds from all kinds of situations. Usually, though, it doesn’t include having to rescue them from loving human families. ANNIE is different. This beautiful, sweet, 22 month old, long haired, cream colored, akc Dachshund (no papers) was given to ODR, Inc. for her own protection. Her human mom has been living in an abusive situation and the husband recently threatened to harm ANNIE. Frightened, her mom called ODR, Inc. who mobilized quickly to rescue ANNIE and her mom by promising to find the doxie a super loving forever family and providing resources for her human mom to leave her unsafe situation as quickly and safely as possible.

ANNIE is a wonderfully loving doxie who needs an equally wonderfully loving home, ideally with someone who is retired or works from home and can spend time with her. If this is you, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website and arrange a time to meet this special doxie.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give our new ANNIE a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in contact with you within 48-72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
