My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Katie finished the Cell Dog Program which means that she was living in prison with a lifer to learn basic obedience and socialization skills. Having met Katie prior to going into the program it was obvious to see the difference in her and that she had come a long way in her training. She is a young adult and will need some continued socialization to the outside world as everything is so new to her but, she is coming along very nicely and is friendly and sociable with everyone she meets. She will make a wonderful family pet or a single's companion. Katie is approximately 2 1/2 to 3 years old and currently weighs 49 lbs.

Here is what her foster family had to say:

Katie is a very sweet dog who is young at heart. She is so accepting of everything and is kind and friendly to everyone she meets including the other three dogs and cats in our home. She is so gentle even as she plays with our 6 lbs dog. She is a very healthy girl and may be a little younger than suspected as she still has some puppy behaviours such as clumsy puppy legs and some puppy energy when she plays. When outside she has lots of energy but inside the home she is content to just lie down and relax. Also she doesn't appear to shed which would suggest she may be younger than we think.

She is a very friendly and sociable dog who hasn't met anyone she doesn't like. It is obvious she was well socialized and is a happy girl. She is never shy with anyone and seems to get along well with any size dog and is even good with the cat in the home.

Katie is very well behaved in the home and has never gotten into anything she shouldn't. She does a little mooching when you are eating but listens straight away when told to go lie down. She is great with her basic obedience and knows sit, stay, paw, other paw, come, down. She is fully house trained and lets you know when she wants to go out. We are not sure about the crate although I believe she is fully crate trained but we have never had reason to put her in the crate as she is great and can be fully trusted in the home. She is learning to walk better on a leash and we find using a harness with her works the best.

Overall Katie is just a really sweet dog that can fit well into just about any situation. We haven't had her around children but I am sure she would be fine. She gets along easily with all the pets and has remained a friendly, affectionate, happy girl the entire time we have had her in our home. She has been a real treat to foster and is an easy keeper.

If you think Katie would fit well into your family, please submit an application for consideration.
