My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Woody and at the tired age of 10 years old I was left at a pound in Quebec by my family. It was quickly discovered that I was in bad shape by the volunteers there and so a plea went out to all rescues to help me and one answered the call – CAA Rescue!
So I was rushed to the vet for a full dental extraction except for one, sad lonely tooth. They also at the same time were kind to vaccinate me, clip my claws, neuter me and micro chip me. It was a very big day and I am now recovering in foster care with medication to help me heal and then I will head back to the vet for a check up and stitch removal, & I will be ready then to find my forever home

I am in foster care with cats along with big and small dogs – I pretty much ignore the cats and try to play with the other doggies even the grumpy one who does not like me! I am a very quiet little man at 7lbs. I have barely made a peep and really spend most of my time buried under the covers snuggling with my foster family. I have a super healthy appetite and will try to eat just about anything; in the morning as I trot around tail high and wagging waiting for breakfast – that is right friends this little Chihuahua man has a fully intact happy, waggy tail!

Now that I figured out the house rules (took me a little extra time, old dogs… new tricks…) I will ask for the door to go out in the back yard and do my business. Now that I am on a regular schedule I have no accidents in the home. I have about 10% eyesight left but you honestly would not know it whatsoever as I get around just fine and love to chase a ball too big for my little toothless mouth up &
down the hallway, I never lose sight of it!

I am looking for a nice and quiet home where I can chill out and hang out! I really do not want to be with young children or an active, high energy home. I would prefer a calmer home with someone who likes to watch Ellen or Dr Phil because I would like to snooze next to you. I need someone who will be patient with me because starting my life over at 10 years old regardless of how wonderful my foster family is, is very hard for me and I am really trying my best. My eyes are tired and dry. My legs can keep up with any pup I have met; the natural and holistic diet of wet food really does perk me up quite a bit and I have a super healthy appetite! I tip toe walk when I am nervous or scared so expect that when you meet me I will do the same but that does not mean that I do not like you, it just takes me a little longer to adjust to new people and places.
I will need clothes to make it through the winter so someone who would like to buy me the latest styles and dress me up warmly would have fun with me
You will have to make extra arrangements for my feeding because I can’t really eat kibble so wet food for life it is for me – to tell you the truth I am totally not complaining! I know that sounds sad to you but to me it is wonderful to once and for all finally live without a world of pain and festering infection in my mouth… so please try to look past the sad and see the sweet little wee man that I am and ask yourself if you could love this grumpy face for potentially the next 8 to 10 years. Can you spoil me and make up for ever thing I lost in the first 10 years of my life? (& if you are wondering about how the wet food comes out … well if a quality diet my poo is solid!)
If you are reading this and your heart is melting for me please write to CAARescue@gmail.com and tell them how we were always meant to be, they will quiz you and ask you to complete an application for adoption please be patient with them as they love me very much and just want to be sure that the next family I have is my real and true forever home, one that won’t give me up because I can’t run and play like a puppy anymore.
