Ernest's Story...
My siblings and I were brought to Tenth Life by a kind lady who found us outside when we were very young.

I am a sensitive little boy who loves to cuddle, sleep under the covers and lay by your side. I seem to know when my people need extra attention and love. It must be that I’m tuned into that “Kitty ESP”!
All is not soulful caregiving, though … I’m also playful, friendly, and snuggly (and sleepy!). I do play well with other cats and with dogs. I also have the typical kitty hunter instinct, but I’m pretty laid back and happy.

As for favorite foods, as llong as I have something to eat, I don't care! But if I could have something other than water to drink, it would be *chocolate milk!* But yes, I know it’s not good for me *Sigh*.
Ernest Hemingway is my namesake, because he’s one of my foster’s favorite authors. I don’t think I’m much like him though.

My ability to know when my people need comfort or just good ol' kitten lovin' is the thing I like ost about myself. Plus, I am very handsome! I don't like being separated from the rest of my friends, though, whether people or furry ones.

My dream “furever” home is someplace with another cat or maybe dog to play with. I do not like being the only one. I would love a home where I can cuddle under the covers at night and follow you around to help you with whatever stuff you are doing. Really, I am the ideal little friend! And please, remember I would do better with another kitty or possibly a dog in the home. Either of my 2 brothers, William and Herman, or my sister, Harper, would be wonderful, and they are also looking for homes. I love them!

I am vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ernest, a St. Louis Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
