My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Octavia is new in rescue and just beginning to reveal her iggyness. She is a petite and sturdy 11.5 pounds and at eight years old, she is at the perfect time of life -- old enough to have mastered all the traits owners notice puppies don't have but young enough to give you frequent doggie down's to let you know she's still got some frisky going.

During the day, Octavia will try to follow you where ever you go, though she is not one of those in-your-face sort of dogs. She is charmingly demure. At the first “hello,” she wags her tail from across the room and then makes gradually longer advances with smaller retreats until she is in your lap where she knew she wanted to be from the very beginning. She's an enthusiastic kisser once she gets to know you better.

She doesn't scratch to get in or out, but loves to be outside and hasn't had any accidents at her foster house. Crates are fine, dog beds and furry blankets are fine, and your bed would be fine too. A lap is preferred, and if yours isn't available, a dog bed or sofa cushion nearby will be fine.

She's not a picky eater, canned is fine and so is kibble. She's in great health. Shortly before she came into rescue, Octavia landed wrong when leaping for a lap, and came to us limping. She has seen a specialist who could not find anything wrong, so we suspect she just bruised herself a little. She is well now, walking on her leg normally but we are making her take things a bit slow just to make sure it stays that way. She says that's fine.

Octavia is easy, easy; a perfect balance of all things iggy. Not Velcro, but her eyes never leave your face. From her, you will learn that everything you do is perfect; pearls of wisdom will fall from your lips and you’ll wonder why no one had noticed this about you before. Once you have Octavia, life will be fine.
