My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ANML-RESQ is searching high & low and far & wide for a special and compassionate home for our beautiful oldie Duggan. Duggan is a handsome 9 year old boy who found himself in the middle of a bush, abandoned and waiting for someone to take him home. We were asked to help him and how could we say no to yet another black and tan. We were very fortunate to have found a great foster home for Duggan and he was swept away to safety.

Now that Duggan has been in foster care for a while, we found that he is an absolute pleasure. Duggan is a low key fellow that lives to snuggle up close on the couch and be doted upon, yet he still enjoys going for car rides and going for walks, with the bonus of having very good leash manners. Duggan gets along famously with everyone and everything he meets; from all people and children to other dogs and cats. What more could you ask for?

Duggan is completely house trained and non-destructive, so he has no need to be crated. Duggan also enjoys being groomed and did wonderfully with all the staff at the doggy spa for some well-deserved pampering, including getting a bath and a nail trim. Duggan’s foster home has even gone as far to say that they haven’t been able to find anything he dislikes yet, that is how easy-going and loveable this sweet boy is.

Duggan does need to be on medication to keep his thyroid in check, twice a day for a minimal cost a month and will be going in to the vet for a recheck in about 6 weeks. Duggan is such an easy dog that he doesn’t even need to have his pills hidden, he will take them easily in his food without a fuss. He is fully vetted, up to date with all vaccines, and neutered.

We are shocked that this perfect boy hasn’t been scooped away yet. If you feel that you can provide Duggan a warm and loving home during his golden years, please fill out the adoption application or contact us for more information.
