Five's Story...
Meet Five!

What kind of a name is Five? Well, when you have a litter of 6 kittens that all look alike and you have to mark them with a sharpie, they get numbers in their ears and then those numbers stick :/

Five is one of 6 kittens born to a feral momma. We were handling them the best we could and then she moved them. After over a week we found them and they were starting to be scared of people, so we pulled them. Reality is they still needed their momma, but if we didn't pull them they were going to be TNRs instead of adoptable kittens.

When we found them some of the litter has picked up a virus in their eyes. They have been treated and Five's eyes are still a little watery, but he is well on his way to being a healthy kitten. We don't like to think what his fate would have been if we wouldn't have found him when we did.

And now we have a very sweet, very lovable, playful, loud purring little guy who is ready for a family to love. A family member with a lap would be very much appreciated by Five.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Five, a Ogallala Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Ogallala, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Ogallala.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ogallala already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ogallala breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ogallala paves the way for another one to be saved.
