Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Luke is a true rescue.
When we took him out of the shelter he had been suffering from sarcoptic mange. The area around both of his eyes were raw and infected. The area was mostly swollen and oozing. He was very itchy and smelly too. Luke was also brought into the shelter heartworm positive.
So after weeks of medical treatment Luke is cleared to go to his forever home. His mange is all cleared up as well as his infection. He will probably always have scaring on his face due to the severity of the mange & infection. He has recently completed his heartworm treatment and neuter too. It took some extra TLC, but Luke is looking and feeling a lot better.
A little about Luke...
We arent really sure of Luke's history as he was picked up as a stray. At first he was very hesitant to come inside, so we think he was an outside dog most of his life. Which would make sense since he was heartworm positive. Luke got accustom to the inside setting very fast. He likes big comforters or comfy dog beds to lay on. He is not overly active like your average lab, but e does love being around people. Luke is great off leash, and pretty decent on leash considering he is a 70lb lab. One thing is for certain he absolutely hates going in a crate , but once he is in he is fine. Dont know why this is but we are gradually easing him into the crate training. Luke has not had an accident in the house since we have had him with or without crate training. He doesnt chew, doesnt play fetch either. Luke loves other dogs and people of all ages. He is not too jumpy either, which is a big plus since he is on the larger side.
Luke would make an excellent family. He has the great lab personalty with just a little bit lower energy level.
