Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Princess is a young cat that is FIV positive. All Princess wants is a family of her very own. She is as her name suggests; sweet, regal, kind, loving and beautiful. She is a Siamese mix approximately 3 years old. Gets along with others and is content to sit on her cushion ( or lap) and look out the window as the world goes by. Princess might be partially deaf or at least hard of hearing. She is hard to picture because she is always wanting to be petted and kept getting too close and doing head nudges for pets. She has the most beautiful silver coat. Though she is shy and would definitely need some time for adjustment she wants a home where she will get lots of attention and love. Princess is healthy and has many years a head of her. She is ready for her forever home, please consider adopting our special kitty.
Here is just a little bit of information about FIV:
~Feline Immunodeficiency Virus- FIV is a virus that reduces the number of white blood cells over time which can make it harder to fight off infection.
~Most cats do not show any signs of illness for years after they are diagnosed with FIV.
~FIV is only transmittable to cats and will not affect dogs or people. Cats will only get it from blood-to-blood contact such as a bite wound.
~A non aggressive FIV+ cat an live with other non-aggressive cats with out the other cats getting the virus.
~ Cats with FIV CAN live the normal lifespan of a cat without FIV
~ You would want to make sure if your FIV+ cat gets a cold or any kind of infection you could take it to the vet promptly to get treated as soon as any illness starts.
~Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, happy, indoor lives with a nutritious diet and regular vet check ups.
Please consider adopting an FIV+ cat like Princess! She will bring you so much joy and you will be saving a very special cat!
