My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee Applies – please email CAARescue@gmail.com
Don’t let my gray muzzle confuse you – I am not an old girl and it is just the coloring I have always had brown and gray! I am a 5 year old vibrant and happy adult girl! & I think my looks are absolutely charming even though everyone is a little baffled about what I might be mixed with, apparently there is no breed type listed as “SmooshieGoodness” so Labrador mix it is then!

I have a very gentle and sweet nature.

I am clean in the home but I have not been left for extended periods of time on my own yet so we are not sure how I will react but for sure foster mummy can talk with you more about that
I was picked up as a stray after roaming the streets for a couple of days and people called to complain, once at the pound my family was located but they decided they did not want me anymore. So I stayed at the pound for close to one month where the volunteers there fell in love with me and could not bear to see my ohhh so sad eyes any more so they asked CAA Rescue to help.
& then one day when I was just about as sad as I could be these two lovely ladies came to get me! They say I am their foster doggie – I am not sure what that means but they promised to love me as their own and said I would have my very own doggie bed to sleep on and a back yard to run around in! It sounded like a dream come true!! I did not believe it and tried to pinch myself because for sure I must have been dreaming! … darn those missing opposable thumbs! If I am dreaming I really hope I never have to wake up because this foster life is the happiest I have been in a long time! In fact I don’t ever remember a time when I felt better than I do right now.
I know you look at me and feel sad for me but please don’t – I am not sad anymore! My eyes look a little weird because I suffer from KCS (Keratoconjunctivitis sicca … big words I know but all it means is dry eye syndrome) and with eye drops twice a day that cost around $40 a month I am doing just fine! It is not a big deal and I sit pretty for them as long as you are calm and gentle and patient and have some sweet treats for me; the eye drops make me feel so much better!
That is why my last family gave up on me because I have dry eye – I kind of wish they had done it sooner as I went a long time without my eye meds but now that I have them I am starting to feel wonderful!
I am about 40 pounds of delicious delight! I am a little sensitive to certain touches but my foster family says I am doing great and learning to trust everyone more and more every day!
I live in a foster home with other kitties and other doggies which is really nice because I have someone to play with but they also show me how great life can be and I trust them very much.
While I am a sweetheart I prefer to be around children ages 12 and up where they can understand who I am and be respectful of the hardships I have faced in my life!
When you come to meet me, please don’t worry if I am a little shy – I do warm up quite quickly to people and if you just watch me with my foster family you will see what life can be like with me!
If you have read my story and cannot wait another minute to meet me please write to CAARescue@gmail.com and ask them for an adoption application so that we can go for a walk together!
