My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Chevy and I am about 6lbs of mostly fur! At the age of 9 years old some man dropped me off at the pound with my medical records and was in a rush so very little information was given to anyone about my history. I could not really stay at the pound because I was very scared and being so scared I was pretty mean to everyone who tried to help me. Thankfully a shelter agreed to take me and finally one night a volunteer from CAA Rescue came to get me from there because even though I was doing much better there I was still really nervous.

Now I find myself in a very active foster home with other doggies and kitties. I am the smallest one there; even the cats are bigger than me! But don’t you worry I hold my own with the big doggies and they are kind to me and never push me around. See I think I am only really learning how to be a doggie for the first time in my life. What the volunteers think may have happened was that I was very much loved by one person, probably a lady. I spent all my time with that lady mostly on her lap watching TV and I loved that lady very much. Something must have happened to her that took her away from me and her family instead of loving me and caring for me could not get rid of me fast enough. This is what caused my fear and confusion at the pound …. My foster mummy says that it seems I am a little heartbroken at times, missing someone. I am not sure if she is right – she is so nice to me I really hate to make her worry about me.

Right now I am not a lap doggie, I am just a doggie! I am taking my walks with the big dogs and going off exploring in the woods a couple of times a week! I really do enjoy my walks a lot! I eat dinner with the big doggies and am expected to follow the rules of the house just like the big doggies. I do like to snuggle with foster mummy in bed but I also like to curl up under the covers in my basket for a nap… sometimes keeping up with foster mummy makes me very sleepy!

I do absolutely love to sit on the couch and watch TV! It is my most favorite thing to do and so any home that is considering adopting me has to absolutely let me on the couch to flake out!

One thing that I heard the volunteers talking about was that my next family should have Pomeranian experience because I am a typical pom and give me a millimetre and I will take 400 miles! I need someone who can look beyond this amount of cuteness (…I know it ain’t easy but you are gonna have to try!!) to see a doggie who can easily revert back to snapping and growling if babied and over pampered. Anyone who is considering adopting me should read up on small dog syndrome and become more aware of the little munster hiding within!

I am 9 years old and so adjusting to all this new, new, new everything is a little hard for me and I am trying my so very hardest so I need someone who will be patient with me. Someone who does not have young children, I think I am just too old to be dealing with the high intensity and activity of children. So one who is active and likes to walk but someone who likes to chill on the couch in the afternoon and watch Dr Phil!

I am clean in the home, using my walk time and back yard to do my business although my first few nights in foster care I did have a couple of accidents. That is to be expected though as I adjust to new family life and routines.

I have not been left alone for any extended period of time but again my breed type can be pretty darn vocal so probably best that I am not in an apartment, I would not want to get my family in trouble and have to move again

If you are reading this and your heart is melting for me please write to CAARescue@gmail.com and tell them how we were always meant to be, they will quiz you and ask you to complete an application for adoption please be patient with them as they love me very much and just want to be sure that the next family I have is my real and true forever home, one that won’t give me up because I can’t run and play like a puppy anymore.
