Carrot Top (renamed Cary) is a charming little guy with beautiful coloring. Initially at the shelter he was listed as a lab mix. Because of his smaller size and coloring a volunteer decided to submit DNA testing. The DNA test results showed his breed make-up to be Beagle with possible genetic markers of Golden Retriever, Catahoula Leopard Dog, and Chow. A copy of the DNA analysis and certificate will be given to Cary's adopter. No matter what his make-up, this guy is going to make someone a great companion. Cary received heartworm treatment and is now heartworm free. He is in foster with 5 other dogs and gets along with dogs, cats, children and adults. He goes for long walks twice a day and has other potty breaks. His walking buddy is a little Shih Tzu mix. Tyson sleeps in a large open crate. Pls. contact his foster at 270-610-0741 with questions or for additional info.

About McCracken County Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

The McCracken County Animal Shelter located in Paducah, KY serves the city of Paducah and McCracken County. We are trying to save as many dogs and cats as possible and have a large population of dogs. We provide the vaccines and spay/neuter prior to adoption. The shelter is very rescue friendly as rescues are important in our efforts to save the animals and find them permanent homes. Fostering is always an option in order to help find the animals permanent homes. Fostering also provides the animals with more socialization than can be given at a large shelter and is so important

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption requires an approved application. Adoption fee for dogs is normally $50 which includes vaccines and spay/neuter.
Fees can be lower due to sponsorship.

Fostering is always an option prior to adoption.
