My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hi to Walter. Walter is just a good old beagle boy. He is about 10 years young. He was found as a stray so we don’t know his back story but he arrived at the shelter very overweight and had difficulty walking. He has shed those unsightly extra ponds and now gets around quite well. He does have arthritis in his hips but he gets joint supplements and aside from not being able to do a lot of stairs he walks well and even runs  He has a thyroid condition but that is easily dealt with by giving him a half a tablet of very inexpensive medication. Walter is good with dogs and cats and loves to greet people. He likes children but with his arthritis he would do better with older children who will respect his condition. Typical beagle, Walter is very, very sweet. Untypical beagle, Walter rarely makes a sound – no barking, no braying. Walter loves to hang out in the yard or go for walks (not too, too long). He rides well in the car but needs an assist to get in. Typical of a beagle, Walter is still working on his housetraining skills. He is usually very good if he gets out often enough so this boy would do best in a home where someone is there most of the day to give him frequent potty breaks.
